KOKORIKO born in 1969 under the brand name ¨Las Colonias¨. In 1972 its name switched to KOKORIKO and in a fast track, growth into the biggest and more versatile Quick Service Restaurant Chain specialized in Chicken Products. Its unique seasoning made KOKORIKO the most famous Rotisserie Chicken.
The name KOKORIKO comes from the French onomatopoeia ´cocorico¨, imitating the sound of a roaster. Over the time, KOKORIKO became the generic term for rotisserie chicken in Colombia.
In 1981, and due to the diversification of the wide line of products, the company finished the construction of a ¨State of the Art¨ manufacturing and administrative facility with leading food processing technology, comprising an individual fast freezing unit, which allows its products to last longer and to better preserve their nutrients values.
In 1994, KOKORIKO was awarded the Industrial Merit Certification for Excellence in the Production, Conservation and Marketing of Fast Food and in 2003 KOKORIKO was the first chain of restaurants in Colombia to obtain the ISO 9001-2000 Certification. Also, as part of our responsibility and commitment to the customer, the company implemented the BPM and HACCP systems.
In 2004, the company redesigned its image, with an open kitchen atmosphere, so the customers can see all the cooking processes and feel plenty satisfied with a healthy and high quality finished product.
Our R&D staff strives every day to develop tasty and nutritious alternatives for our customers in an effort to retain the company´s leading position in the market.
In 2006 KOKORIKO opened its first location in Miami and due to countless requests for new openings, a second location was built in HIALEAH. This store is actually being moved to the Brickell-Downtown Miami area and expected to be opened by end of 2011.
KOKORIKO has grown to become the biggest Chicken Restaurant Chain in Colombia, with more than 100 locations and according to recent studies, KOKORIKO is the Restaurant Chain brand with the highest top of mind and awareness in Colombia.
